3 Actions to Fight the Flu

The flu is an illness with fever, headache, sore throat, cough and muscle ache, caused by the influenza virus (germ). “Seasonal” flu occurs every year, usually during the late fall and winter. The flu is more severe than just the common cold and can require medical care. Not sure if you have the flu? Contact your doctor’s office right away.

You can protect yourself and others from the flu this season with these 3 actions steps recommended by the CDC.

  1. Get vaccinated
  2. Help stop the spread of flu viruses (Remember to wash your hands often with soap and water, or use a hand sanitizer. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze and avoid close contact with anyone who may be sick)
  3. Take antiviral drugs if your doctor prescribes them
