About the City of Lowell web site
The City of Lowell's web site was built on top of the Zope application server using the Plone content management system (CMS). Plone utilizes Zope's content management framework (CMF) and provides a powerful and user-friendly interface for managing content.
The City of Lowell's web services are provided through two load-balanced application servers, each running Squid, a caching HTTPD proxy. Each server's Squid process communicates via Internet Caching Protocol (ICP) with two backend Zope servers running on the same physical computer that share the same Zope Object Database (ZODB) via Zope Enterprise Objects (ZEO). ZEO permits multiple Zope instances to share the same database, even when the instances and database reside on different computers.
Any comments regarding the City of Lowell's web site should be made through the web site feedback form.
