RE:                 MOTION BY COUNCILOR MILLINAZZO: “REQUEST THE CITY MANAGER HAVE PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT MAKE PRESENTATION TO THE COUNCIL ON FORM-BASED CODES AND HOW THEY DIFFER FROM TRADITIONAL ZONING CODES, BEFORE THE HAMILTON CANAL FORM-BASED CODE IS BROUGHT FORWARD”

George Proakis, Planning and Permitting Director at DPD, is available to make a brief presentation to the City Council at the regular Council meeting on Tuesday, July 8, 2008.  At this meeting, he will provide the Council with an introduction to the form-based code concept and the way that it differs from a traditional zoning code.  He will also explain why this tool is being pursued for the Hamilton Canal District site, and be available to answer questions from Councilors.  Thank you.
