Martin E. Lorrey

Martin LorreyMarty Lorrey is a lifelong resident of the City of Lowell, born in the Back Central neighborhood. He is married to Lila (Gordon) Lorrey. They have one daughter, Megan Lorrey.  He is a graduate of Saint Peter’s School, Lowell High School and UMass Lowell.

In 2011, Councilor Lorrey ran for the City Council after retiring from the U.S.Postal Service following 33 years of service. Councilor Lorrey is chair of the Education Partnerships and Transportation Subcommittees, and serves as a member on the Environment, Economic Development, Flood Issues, Neighborhoods, Parks and Recreation Subcommittees.

Councilor Lorrey volunteered for many years at the Mogan Center in Lowell, the Boarding House Park Summer Music Series, and the Lowell Folk Festival.

Councilor Lorrey is a member of the East End Club. Lorrey is a member of the Board of Directors for Community Teamwork Inc. and the Northern Middlesex County of Governments.
