Board of State Examiners & Electricians/ PV Installers
The Commission will discuss a recent vote by the above State Board requiring individuals installing PV solar panels to have an electrical license and the subsequent impact on Lowell's job creation goals and impact on JNYnetwork's ability to operate a job training program.
Review Attendance and Participation Guidelines
The Commission will review preliminary proposals for attendance and participation guidelines in preparation for a detailed discussion during the August meeting.
Green Communities Program
The Commission will review current activities underway to meet Green Communities designation through the Department of Energy Resources. This will include a review of technical assistance made available through DOER to meet the five criteria communities must meet to be designated as a Green Community.
Draft Wind Facility Ordinance
Division of Planning and Development staff will present a draft ordinance for wind energy facilities. After the presentation discussion will be held to help refine the ordinance to ensure the City's renewable energy goals are met.
