Yard Sale Program

The Yard Sale Program was created to allow the City to sell small, vacant parcels in overcrowded neighborhoods to abutters, to provide green space, and off-street parking in areas with a shortage of both. Lots are sold at a bargain rate, with conditions that prevent buyers from building on them or subdividing them, so that they will not be used to further add to the density of the neighborhood. Only City-owned vacant lots can be sold through the Yard Sale Program. All vacant lots to be included in this Program must first be approved by the staff members from the Department of Planning and Development.
