Outreach Health Education
In an effort to understand and improve the health needs of our Lowell residents, a Health Educator has been designated to reach out and work with the private and public sectors of Lowell and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
The Health Educator also works closely with the Communicable Disease Control Nurse, Tuberculosis Team, as well as the School Health Division. This is accomplished with education presentations and various public immunization clinics as needed.
The Health Educator acts as a liaison to build and strengthen communication and working relationships within the community in order to promote public health.
Building strong partnerships in our community prepares us to develop a realistic approach to an Emergency Preparedness Response in the event of a natural disaster, bioterroristic event, radiological or chemical incident and unusual disease outbreaks within our community.
