Doors Unhinged! is Doors Open Lowell’s twist on an art exhibition and fundraiser and it is returning from May 17-19, 2007 with a new twist, Doors Unhinged! Etc.  Last year's event surpassed all expectations in creativity and interest as doors "flew off their hinges" and came face to face with paint brushes, paint, fabric, glue, hammers, saws, nails, etc. courtesy of our local arts community.  The results this year will again be something even more extraordinary...something quirky...something unique...something beyond the traditional Doors Unhinged! event, Doors Unhinged! Etc.

Doors Unhinged! has been an exhibition in which artists begin with blank six-paneled door and create unique works of art.  Doors Unhinged! Etc. will expand the artistic horizons of the event by encouraging the use of various mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and mixed media. The challenge for Doors Unhinged! Etc. is to see how artists interpret the built world around them through their artwork and how architectural features and influences can be incorporated in different artistic mediums.
