Jerathmell Bowers House, 150 Wood Street

Built ca. 1673

National Register of Historic Places (1/28/1994)

The Jerathmell Bowers House is the oldest known residential building in Lowell.  A New England Colonial cottage, the house also includes 18th, 19th, and 20th century additions.  Located in what was once part of Chelmsford, the house was originally part of the 150 acre Bowers Farm and is symbolic of the area’s agricultural origins.  The house has remained under continuous Bowers family ownership from its construction to the present day.
