SUBJECT:       MOTION OF 5/6/08 BY COUNCILOR ELLIOTT

MANAGER REPORT ON PROPOSED USE OF STATE FUNDS FOR THE JAM PLAN

I have been in communication with Adam Baacke, Assistant City Manager/DPD Director regarding the above-mentioned motion.  At my request the attached report has been prepared to address the use of state funds for the JAM plan.  The City greatly appreciates the efforts of the legislative delegation in securing these necessary funds for the JAM Urban Revitalization and Development Plan.  Also deserving recognition is the work of the staff of the Department of Planning and Development to identify and track funding sources and to provide the necessary coordination to meet the eligibility requirements and specifications of the various grant programs to meet the budgetary needs of this large scale redevelopment project.

Please do not hesitate to call me with any questions regarding this information.  Thank you.
