RE:                   Motion of CC Meeting of July 22, 2008 by C. Kazanjian “Request that the City Manager have the Appropriate Department Provide an Update on the Reilly School

 

In response to the above-mentioned motion, T.J. McCarthy has provided a report on the two simultaneous construction projects currently taking place at the Reilly School; the boiler replacement project and roof replacement project.  The report is summarized as follows.

 

Regarding the boiler project:

 

Ø      Removed old boiler

Ø      Poured new concrete pad

Ø      Currently re-piping/converting water feeds and exchanges

Ø      Expected delivery of new boiler by August 15th

Ø      Projected completion of all work by September 30th

 

Regarding the roof replacement:

 

Ø      Bid and contract processing completed July 30th

Ø      Crane arrived on site July 31st, will remain on site for two-three weeks

Ø      Construction supplies arrived last week, deliveries continue through this week

Ø      Engineering plans submitted to Building Department for review this week

Ø      Notification of logistical plans (crane) material storage need to be conveyed to School Department Officials

Ø      Expected completion of project some time between August 28th and September 18th, weather permitting
