Park Rental Information

To get a permit for private usage of a park or open space you must first download the Facilities Request Form from our web site and print it out.  Once printed please fill out all information, such as desired dates, times and location.  Also include any special amenities you would like provided.  This may include, but is not limited to; bathrooms, electricity, permission for grills and custodial/maintenance services.  The City of Lowell does not provide tents, tables, grills and/or chairs.

Once the form filled out you may return it to us by either handing it in at our office, mailing it to us, faxing it in, or by scanning and e-mailing the form.  The address, fax and e-mail are located at the top of the form.

Once it is received it will be reviewed by our office.  Priority of some facilites are given to organizations that have a history of using that facility, for instance LHS Athletics at Cawley Stadium.  Your request will be handled in the order in which it was received after the priority organizations are scheduled. 

Depending on your request you may have to attend a Board of Parks meeting.  The Board of Parks meets the last Wednesday of every month at 6 p.m. at the DPD Conference Room.  The deadline to get on the agenda is noon the Friday prior to the date of the meeting. You will receive a letter informing you of the details of the Board of Parks meeting that you are expected to attend.  You must have a representative at this meeting to answer any questions or explain any special services requested.  The Board will review and vote on your request at that time, as well as determine any applicable costs.

Permits issued in the early spring will not be released until the Commissioner of Parks determines the fields to be in safe conditions for use.  Once the permit is approved and released, you will be notified and you may have to pick up the permit.  Any permits that have a fee requirement will have to be picked up and payment will be due at the time of pick up.  Permits with a fee will not be given out until the fee is paid.
