January 2007

Together The Panel decided to run a Coat Drive in each of their schools.  The Coat Drive ran from Jan. 22 - Jan. 26th.  Between the four high schools the Panel collected 6 bags of coats.  The coats were donated to St. Vincet De Paul on Jan. 29th.

March 2007

The Panel teamed up with the Merrimack Valley Food Bank for the "Pantry Raid" and the Neighborhood Food Drive.  The Mayor's Joint Youth Commission is made up of high school students from 4 different schools.  For the "Pantry Raid" each school tried to collect donations for the Merrimack Valley Food Bank.  A few of the members also helped to distribute brown paper bags for households to fill and have the MVFB pick up. 

May 2007

The Panel all wanted to take part with the "Keep Lowell Beautiful" group.  They met with representives from the National Park about the program.  From there the Panel set up a day to clean up the River Walk behind the Tsongas Arena.
