Originally brought to Lowell in 2002 by Co-Chairmen, Andy St. Onge and Corey Belanger, Rib'n Brews became one of the City's great events until last year when Andy's untimely death sapped the energy from its organizers. This year's economic climate has not allowed the City to revive and to sponsor the event. JAMBRA, with the City's encouragement and support, has adopted and renamed the event a "Major JAM'n Brew and BBQ Festival". Plans are to make this, once again, an annual event to be held on the Saturday following Labor Day.

This year local businesses including UTEC's Fresh Roots, The Village Smokehouse and the JAM Distric's newest business, Garcia Brogan's Cantina, Pub & Restaurant, will be joined by M&M Ribs of Dorchester to provide a tasty array of mouth-watering food and barbecue.

More than twelve Breweries from New England including the Berkshire Brewery from western Massachusetts, Longtail and Magic Hat Breweries from Vermont, Peak Organic and our own local Lowell Beer Works will provide more than sixty brews for festival attendees to taste and judge. Three Olive Vodka will be giving out souvenir beer glasses inscribed with the Three Olive logo and our Major Jam'n logo in full color to the first 300 participating tasters.

The evening's entertainment will include the sounds of "For Pete's Sake" and "Whiskey Tango".

Tickets for entry to barbecue and entertainment is $5.00, entry to beer tasting from 6pm - 9pm are $20.00.
