The City of Lowell is a part of the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP)
What is the Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project (CMMCP)?
Mosquito control means different things to different people, and many misconceptions exist.
CMMCP's efforts are based on surveillance and integrated mosquito management, using targeted applications of very specific pesticides only after pre-determined thresholds of mosquitoes have been exceeded.
Other areas of control are performed without the applications of pesticides at all.
How can I get CMMCP to spray my property for mosquitos?
CMMCP will be in Lowell once a week during mosquito breeding season to investigate complaints about mosquitos.
Note that the program shuts down when cool night time temperatures become predominant in this area.
How do I know if CMMCP spraying is working?
Who can I contact if I have questions or complaints about the CMMCP?
Please feel free to contact the Health Department
directly at 978-674-4308, so that we may answer any comments, questions, or concerns you may have.
