Lowell Launches Neighborhood Innovation Grant Program
Want to improve your neighborhood? Funding is available to put your ideas into action. The Neighborhood Innovation Grant Program, administered by the Department of Planning and Development, provides seed funding of up to $1,500 for collaborative, community-driven neighborhood improvement projects.

Central Street Cobblestone Work Update
The next phase of the cobblestone project on Central Street from Market St. to Appleton St. is on schedule for Saturday, October 22nd at 5:30 a.m. This part of the project consists of paving the area that was milled on the 11th and will take most of the day. During this phase, there will be no traffic allowed in the area. Detours around the area will be designated with signage and police details will be on site to assist with traffic flow.
Baystate Marathon
The Baystate Marathon, hosted by the Greater Lowell Road Runners, will occur on Sunday, October 16, 2011 - 8:00am @ the Tsongas Center. More information can be found at www.baystatemarathon.com.

Central Street Cobblestone Work
The long anticipated cobblestone work to Central Street from Market St. to Appleton St. is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, August 24th at 5:30 a.m.. As with any construction project, there is the expectation that the short-term disruption and inconvenience will result in the long-term benefit of improved travel conditions for both vehicles and pedestrians.

Let Your Voice Be Heard - Public Visioning Sessions
The update to the city's Comprehensive Master Plan is well underway. This summer, as part of the public outreach component of the update, the Department of Planning and Development will host a series of five public visioning sessions to collect input from the community and help inform the city's vision for the future. All meetings will take place at the Lowell Senior Center from 6-8:30 PM.
