Overnight Downtown Snow Removal Operations Begin January 22nd at 8PM

City of Lowell DPW Operations are scheduled to address snow removal from the downtown area beginning at 8 pm on Saturday, January 22nd.  Removal is phased to start in areas less encumbered by parked cars and in residential areas and continue to the business district through the night.  After midnight, snow removal shifts into full gear to focus on the areas in front of business establishments.  The snow removal operation is planned for the overnight to take advantage of streets emptied of parked cars.

Please be advised, the downtown district is subject to the seasonal overnight parking ban, as defined in City Ordinance Sec. 19-74 which covers main streets throughout the City.  This ordinance states that a parking ban will be in effect from December 1st thru March 31st between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.  Motor Vehicles in violation shall be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.  The City of Lowell thanks residents and business owners for their cooperation and patience as the DPW carries out this necessary operation to improve accessibility in the downtown.
