DID YOU KNOW THAT WHEN PURCHASING A PROPERTY THE LENDER WILL TYPICALLY REQUIRE ONE? THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN YOUR CLOSING DOCUMENTS. YOU CAN CHECK TO SEE IF IT WAS INCLUDED BY REVIEWING YOUR CLOSING COST DETAILS TO SEE IF YOU PAID FOR ONE (SEE EXAMPLE BELOW).
ALSO PLEASE NOTE THAT MORTGAGE PLOT PLANS ARE TYPICALLY NOT INSTRUMENT SURVEYS AND MAY NOT BE ACCURATE ENOUGH TO DETERMINE PROPERTY LINES. THE ONLY WAY TO GET AN ACCURATE LAYOUT OF YOUR PROPERTY LINES IS BY HAVING A MASSACHUSETTS REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR PERFORM A FULL INSTRUMENT LAND SURVEY.
