LPD Youth Services
The Lowell Police Youth Services Program seeks to create opportunities for all city youth to participate in free after school activities, athletics, and other ventures that emphasize health and wellness, while also experiencing positive interactions with police officers.

LPD Youth Boxing (Year-Round)
The Lowell Police Department (LPD) provides a youth boxing program for Lowell residents between the ages of 10 – 18. The workouts are great for cardiovascular fitness, balance, endurance and hand-eye coordination. LPD officers volunteer to provide mentorship and training to youth.
School Hours start on Tuesday September 6th and will go until the end of the 2023 school year.
Schedule:
Monday and Wednesday - 2 Classes either 3:30-4:30pm or 4:30-5:30pm (new students or less than 3 months are encouraged to come at this time)
Tuesday and Thursday - 2 Classes either 3:30-4:30pm or 4:30-5:30pm (students who have been coming from more than 3months unless cleared by staff)
* Please note that the hours will be adjusted during school vacation breaks and holidays.

Basketball (November – December 2022)
The Lowell Police Department Youth Services Program will be offering a basketball open gym every Friday night from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM at the Holy Trinity Polish Church. Learn to Swim Program (Summer)
The Lowell Police Department Youth Services Program, in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, Sean A. Collier Memorial Foundation, and Lowell Recreation Department, offered a learn-to-swim program from 7/18/22-7/29/22. 50 youth between the ages of 6 and 16 participated in the program. The department intends to offer this program again in 2023. Please stay tuned for more information.
Ironstone Farm (Summer)
During the summer of 2021 and 2022, the LPD partnered with Ironstone Farm to offer a week-long program for at-risk youth. Youth participating in the program toured the farm, participated in drill team activities, watched demonstrations, and rode horses. The department intends to offer this program in 2023. Please stay tuned for additional information.
Flag Football Clinic & Tournament (Summer & Fall)
The Lowell Police Department Youth Services Program, in partnership with the Afro-American Community Collaborative, Merrimack Valley Flag Football League, and Sean A. Collier Memorial Foundation, offered a flag football clinic in the summer of 2022 for Lowell residents in grades 5-8. A Flag Football Neighborhood Challenge was also offered for Lowell residents in grades 5-8 in October 2022. The LPD hopes to offer these programs again in 2023.
