While the City is continuing to work o
n the broad set of ARPA plan initiatives that were presented to the public in October 2022, we also understand that unique project ideas and service opportunities may exist outside of the City's ARPA plan, which could make a positive impact on the City’s recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
With this in mind, the City has set aside $500,000 of ARPA funding to be used towards the: “ARPA Ad-Hoc Projects and Services Grant” program. This program is intended to inspire unique, yet lower cost projects and/or service programs, which would potentially fall outside of the scope of traditional grant opportunities. The City is looking for lower cost, out-of-the-box ideas that will meet the underlying objectives of the ARPA program (as outlined by the US Treasury), and are also aligned with Lowell’s ARPA plan initiatives. Applications will be accepted from area businesses, non-profits, community partners, and residents.
The ARPA Ad-Hoc Projects & Services Grant application is available for download here. Versions of the application are also available for download in: Spanish, Portuguese, and Khmer.
Copies of this application can be picked up at City Hall: 375 Merrimack St, 1st floor - Room 34, Lowell, MA 01852 during regular office hours.
