Pawtucketville Residents, Spring Hydrant Flushing and Gate Turning in your neighborhood will begin Monday, May 1. Please see the map for designated street assignments. You may have also received this information in a mailing to your home.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Lowell Regional Water Utility at (978) 674-4242
Additional information can be found on our website: https://www.lowellma.gov/645/Water-Utility
Please be advised that during this process, residents may experience a drop in water pressure, as well as some discoloration of the water. The work will be completed Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8:00AM and 2:00PM, except when otherwise posted.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our residents. However, this is a very important system maintenance procedure that is conducted yearly. The program allows the water mains to be cleaned, gates to be exercised, and the hydrants to be checked for proper operation.
Although the water is safe to use during this time, residents should refrain from doing laundry when the water is discolored. Please avoid running hot water, as sediment can accumulate in your water heater. Following the hydrant flushing in your area, all residents should run the cold water in the bathtub, if applicable, or the sink until water runs clear before returning to normal use.
