Due to conditions that arose during construction, the Pawtucket Street bridge over Pawtucket Canal will be closed to vehicular traffic for the foreseeable future. It remains open to bicycle and pedestrian traffic. The MassDOT bridge inspection will be completed shortly and once the City receives the official report, a decision will be made regarding the length of the closure.

A detour route has been set up and drivers should follow the signage for a safe route around the bridge. The City appreciates your patience and understanding while the issue is being analyzed.
