Kim Scott was elected to her first term on the Lowell City Council in January 2022, after two terms as a former at-large member of the Lowell School Committee. She was first elected to the School Committee in 2011 and she won re-election in a general election in 2013. She continues to be a huge supporter of public-school education and is now proud to represent District 5. She also volunteered in the past as a PTO, and City-wide parent council treasurer.
District 5 generally includes the following neighborhoods: South Lowell, Sacred Heart, The Grove, Ayers City, and parts of Back Central and the Lower Highlands.
She currently serves as the Chair of the City Council’s Finance and Educational Partnerships subcommittees and is a member of the Economic Development, Nonprofit, Public Safety, and Rules Subcommittees.
Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and resides at 27 Commonwealth Ave in South Lowell with her husband Paul and their two daughters Erin and Madison. She has worked in the sales and finance fields for the last 25 years,
Kim greatly enjoys hearing from and helping residents in any way that she can and encourages residents to reach out to her. She has a real passion for her community and helping all residents have a good quality of life. A few priorities for her district include traffic calming, early literacy, creation of long-term rehabilitation and housing opportunities, additional recreational activities, and clean safe neighborhoods.
