Alethea Dys-Peirce is a Second Assistant City Solicitor in the City of Lowell Law Department.  She received her J.D. and a Certificate in Intellectual Property Law, from New England Law | Boston, where she served as Chief Justice of the New England Law Student Bar Association, and her B.A., cum laude, in Political Science from UMass Lowell.  She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.

Before joining the Law Department, Alethea was a Senior Associate at Shapiro Law Group, PC where she concentrated on employment discrimination cases and represented clients before the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination, the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and state and federal courts. She has experience in other areas of civil litigation including personal injury, family law, probate, and real estate.
