The City of Lowell would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff at DPW, the contract workers, and the residents for working together over the past three weeks of intense winter weather.
With winter storms totaling over 36 inches of ice and snow, City employees, with the help of local contractors and community residents, have been working literally around the clock to remove snow from city streets, sidewalks, and access points to ensure the safety of Lowell residents and visitors.
Over the next 24-48 hours, we ask that you please continue to clear your sidewalks, catch basins, and fire hydrants. Please help city employees by not shoveling snow into the street. With more snow in the forecast for this week, we thank each and every one of you for continuing to be good neighbors. If you see a DPW worker, please thank them for the time and effort they have put in to ensure the safety of the community.
