Cable in Your Community

The City of Lowell's Chief Information Officer also serves as the City's Cable Coordinator responsible for receiving and processing cable complaints, and monitoring compliance with the cable operator, and Public, Education, and Government (PEG) access entities within the City.

Cable Entities

Comcast of Massachusetts is the only cable operator that has sought a license within the City of Lowell.

Access Corporation

Lowell Telecommunications Corporation (LTC) is the non-profit entity responsible for Comcast channels 6 (Municipal Programming), 8 (Public, Local Programming), and 26 (Public, Global Programming) within the City. Lowell Educational Television (LET), run by the Lowell Public School District, produces Comcast channel 22 (Educational Programming) from the Lowell High School Creegan Studio.

The Useful Documents section below includes the Form 500 Data which details "... any written or verbal contact with a cable operator in connection with subscription in which a person expresses dissatisfaction with an act, omission, product or service that is (1) within the operator's control, and (2) requires a corrective measure on the part of the operator...".  Other Useful Documents include changes to services and pricing, channel lineups, and programming advisories, all of which the cable operator also include in the customer bills in advance of changes.
