In 2016 the Lowell Historic Board (LHB) launched its new Downtown Lowell Historic District Building Marker program.         The markers allow people to discover various buildings and their histories without being on a formal tour or visiting a museum if time doesn't allow or on off-hours.  The markers complement other self-guided discovery options like the many Lowell National Historical Park wayside exhibit panels that can be found along the Canalway walking path system.
