Well-designed signage is a good investment, promotes business and economic development, attracts foot and vehicular traffic, and can enhance the appearance of a business, downtown, and the Downtown Lowell Historic District.  Sign grants are available through the Lowell Historic Board (LHB) to assist small businesses in the District with the cost of signage production and installation.

Grants can be used to fabricate signage for new or existing businesses or to replace signage that is in violation, nonconforming, or unapproved.  Up to $500 maximum per business is available and the grants are reimbursable after the signage has been installed and inspected.
