Project Scope: Improvements include upgrading the playground to be accessible and inclusive with Poured-In-Place rubber surfacing; resurfacing the tennis court area to include handball and pickleball, and a heat-resistant sealcoat; and restriping the basketball court and installing new hoops. Additional trees and shrubs will also be planted near the playground.

January 2026

  • Ribbon Cutting Coming Soon! The park is now open to the public. A ribbon cutting event will be held in the spring to celebrate this park transformation. 

October 2025

  • The park is almost ready! A few things left to finish before the park can open - including a full CPSI safety inspection.

June 2025

  • School has ended and construction has started! The park is now temporarily closed for construction.

March 2025

  • DPD shared information about this project at Shaughnessy School Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

February 2025

  • DPD shared information about this and other ARPA-funded projects at Lowell Winterfest on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 10:00 am - 3:00 pm.
