Solid Waste & Recycling Office, DPW

Happy Veteran's Day! This week has your trash, recycle and yard waste pushed back one day.
**********Yard waste is running two (2) days behind due to the Monday Holiday, freezing temperatures, and the overwhelming volume of yard waste. Thursday's yard waste pick up was started today and should be finished by tomorrow afternoon. Friday's yard waste will be picked up Monday, November 18th, which will cause a 1-day yard waste delay that week. Trucks will be working Monday through Saturday next week, which is expected to bring yard waste collection back to normal the week of the 25th.*************************

Our mission is to help educate everyone about how to Reduce trash, Reuse materials that might otherwise be thought of as trash, and Recycle materials for the environment and economy.

Starting the week of October 14th, yard waste will be collected EVERY WEEK on your service day! Make sure your yard waste barrels are labelled or yard clippings are in designated lawn paper bags, no heavier than 35 pounds and are not in plastic bags. Dirt, rocks, fencing, metal, etc. is not allowed; yard clippings only!
Yard waste collection will END the second week of December (last week of collection is Dec 9th-13th).

Why was my cart missed?
To make sure your carts get picked up, follow these rules. Carts must:
  • be out by 7 am on your service day
  • be against or at the edge of the curb and at least an arm's length from any vehicle
  • have closed lids
  • be less than 250 pounds - the trucks have weight limitations on what they can pick up!
If your trash or recycling carts are given rejection stickers, the carts are in violation of one of the above rules or contain items that do not belong in that cart. Please do not report a miss if you find that your carts are in violation of any of the above rules, or have rejection stickers.
This week is a HOLIDAY Collection Schedule - all routes bumped one day.
